Daydream to Reality

One of my core values is activism; calling me to make the most positive difference possible in this lifetime. For years I've flirted with the idea of running for some variation of a local office, but none of these daydreams solidified into a plan of action. That changed, ironically, with a Facebook post.

My friend David posted on FB to wondering if folks had considered running for City Council. While I have been on the non-profit advocacy circuit in Cedar Rapids for years, I hadn't considered that role per se. One coffee meeting later and I was energized to jump start the process! I am writing this as my initial, pre-campaign update when I have raised $0 and not even told my parents yet! But the graphic designs are underway, and I have the blessing of my full-time manager. Things are in the works and I am thrilled to begin this adventure and would be incredibly honored if District 1 of Cedar Rapids choose me as their representative.
