Why to Support

In a chat with a friend recently, I brought up my tendency to be a bit bull headed. I am tenacious, persistent, and determined but in my friend's words, "however strong your stubbornness might be, your heart is bigger." Being naturally inclined to challenge the status quo tends to lead me into innovative spaces. In a nutshell, I truly care. I consistently act on compassion for creatures big and small while working to support my fellow humans. An anonymous quote that resonates with me deeply, "a candle loses nothing but lighting another candle."

A long-held value of mine is making sure people feel heard and valued. Part of my vision for hopefully serving as the City Council representative for District 1 is to be a voice for the people. With so much experience in community-based non-profit work, I have seen the transformative power of grassroots and community led efforts. I plan on tapping into that experience to be a present and engaged leader ready to help empower the entire community.
