Responsiveness

While I am committed to improving the health of our community for all, I am also invested in being responsive to the needs, interests, and requests of our community. Have you ever reached out to officials, only to hear nothing in reply? I will seek to establish a responsive relationship with constituents, not only residents of District 1, but of the entirety of Cedar Rapids. If there is an interest or question which I am not privy to, I will reply, then find more information and follow up with the community member. After November 4th, we will know if I have been elected to serve on City Council, after which I will continue weekly updates about the work we are making progress on. Responsiveness and transparency are very important values in the initiatives which I take on. This is likely very much linked to my non-profit background and training. A deeper underlying motivation could also be my personal goal to always make sure those I interact with feel truly heard and valued.
